SAEL Solar MHP1 and SAEL Solar MHP2 projects were completed in 11 months with an investment of approximately 11 months $3000 Crores.

“The commissioning of these projects reflects Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to fast-paced industrial growth and expansion of clean energy,” Lokesh said.

Spread over 2,400 acres, the integrated solar facility is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s position as an emerging destination for renewable energy investments.

The two 300 MW projects, operated by SAEL Solar MHP1 Private Limited and SAEL Solar MHP2 Private Limited, achieved commercial operations earlier this year.

MHP1 began operations on 30 January and MHP2 on 13 March.

The projects use more than 12,000 TOPCon bifacial solar modules, most of which are assembled at SAEL’s facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan.

The electricity generated from the projects will be supplied to the national grid under a 25-year power purchase agreement with Solar Power Corporation of India.

These projects are expected to reduce approximately 11,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually while contributing to regional economic growth.

These projects are also expected to create sustainable income opportunities for farmers through land leasing arrangements extending up to 25 years.

Developed under SAEL’s integrated engineering, procurement, construction and operations framework, these projects have been supported by the Andhra Pradesh government and local authorities to facilitate approvals, land access and network connectivity.

The opening comes at a time when Andhra Pradesh is working to accelerate the implementation of the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024, under which the state is targeting investments worth $10 lakh crore across renewable energy, storage, green hydrogen, transportation and manufacturing.

The company is also exploring more opportunities in Andhra Pradesh in renewable energy and agricultural waste-to-energy initiatives.
