According to multiple media outlets, the alleged suspects in the San Diego mosque shooting are teens Clark and Vasquez. Authorities said the two men opened fire outside the Islamic Center of San Diego on May 18, 2026.

Police later discovered the suspects dead inside a car a few blocks from the mosque, and stated that both teens were believed to have died from gunshot wounds.

Officials are said to be treating the case as a potential hate crime when anti-Islamic graffiti and other messages were discovered inside the car.

The shooting led to the death of three victims, including the mosque security guard, identified in reports as Amin Abdullah.

The authorities confirmed that children who were attending classes at the mosque’s school were fortunately evacuated during the ordeal.

Clark has been identified by several media outlets as one of the alleged shooters in the San Diego mosque attack. Reports indicate that Clark was a student at Madison High School in San Diego and competed in the school’s wrestling program.

According to NBC, Clark was attending school virtually and was expected to graduate soon. Family members told reporters that they were shocked by the incident and had little knowledge about the late teenager’s alleged motive.
