Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the BRICS summit in New Delhi on September 12-13, a Kremlin aide said.

India, which holds the presidency of BRICS this year, is scheduled to host the annual summit in September.
“President Putin will participate in the BRICS summit in New Delhi on September 12-13,” Kremlin Assistant for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov said, according to the Russian TASS news agency.
He added that a bilateral meeting is scheduled to be held between President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi.

Putin’s last visit to India was in 2025
President Putin last visited India in December 2025 to attend the 23rd annual India-Russia summit.
Earlier this month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov attended a two-day secret meeting of BRICS member states in New Delhi.
BRICS, originally made up of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, expanded in 2024 to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates, while Indonesia joined the group in 2025.
The bloc has emerged as a major global platform, bringing together 11 leading emerging economies representing approximately 49.5% of the world’s population, approximately 40% of global GDP and approximately 26% of global trade.
