Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said on Monday that any US military action against Cuba would lead to a “bloodbath” that would have countless consequences for regional peace and stability.
“Cuba is not a threat,” Diaz-Canel said in a post on X.These statements follow a report published on Sunday, citing classified intelligence, that said Cuba had acquired more than 300 military drones and had discussed plans to use them to attack the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, US military ships, and Key West, Florida.Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said Cuba, “like any country in the world,” has the right to legitimate self-defense against any external aggression under the UN Charter. He also said that those who seek to attack Cuba are using false pretexts to justify it.Reuters
