'20 students were denied visas in front of me': Indian man reveals 'scariest' question an officer asks during an interview

Hare Krishna Trivedi from Ahmedabad reveals details of F-1 visa interview at Mumbai consulate.

An Indian student revealed his recent experience obtaining an F-1 visa at the Mumbai consulate, where he plans to pursue his master’s degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

In a YouTube interview, Hare Krishna Trivedi from Ahmedabad narrated how he saw each of the 20 applicants before him being rejected without any specific reason.Trivedi said he was surprised to see visa officers only give candidates a few seconds, and when they started applying, they were interrupted and told that their visa applications had been rejected. It appears that the visa officers already knew that they would reject applications even before the candidates arrived at their windows. After seeing candidates get rejected after barely uttering six words, he said he was mentally prepared that his candidate would be rejected as well. It was already approaching lunchtime, and candidates who went to better schools were facing rejection.Trivedi said that when he arrived for the interview, he was the last person in the queue and was asked to introduce himself like the others. Halfway through, he was stopped and the visa officer asked him who would sponsor him.

Trivedi said he was momentarily taken aback by the suddenness of the question, but then told the visa officer that his father, who has a business, was sponsoring his education through a loan. The visa officer then asked him about his future plans, which he thought was the scariest question. Trivedi said he categorically told the visa officer that he wanted to pursue a master’s degree in the US to gain skills and then build in India – to join his father’s business. He told the visa officer that his father’s work was in the healthcare sector and that he wanted to study artificial intelligence in healthcare.Trivedi said he was handed a 221(g) form declaring all his social media accounts, and could not believe his visa had been granted by the same officer who had rejected at least 20 of his applications.
