Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a journalist shared a video that allegedly showed the Prime Minister avoiding taking questions during a press conference in Norway.

Prime Minister Modi arrived in Norway from Sweden on a two-day visit and met King Harald V at the Royal Palace in Oslo. King Harald V presented Modi with Norway’s highest civilian honour, the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit.

Gandhi wrote on the X website: “What happens to India’s image when the world sees a prime minister in a state of panic threatening to evade some questions?”
Modi attended the third India-North Summit and held key bilateral meetings with leaders of the Nordic countries.

Prime Minister Modi in Norway
This is Modi’s first visit to Norway, and it is also the first trip by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in 43 years.
Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Sture held detailed talks and called for resolving tensions in Ukraine and West Asia through dialogue and diplomatic efforts.
The talks on Monday focused on increasing cooperation in sectors including clean energy, climate resilience, the blue economy, green shipping, digital technology, space and Arctic research.
“India and Norway believe in rules-based order, dialogue and diplomacy. We agree that no issue can be resolved through military conflict,” Prime Minister Modi said in his televised media statement after the talks.
A joint statement said that the two prime ministers strongly and clearly condemn terrorism and violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism.
