Actress and producer Huma Qureshi made a strong return to the Cannes Film Festival over the weekend, appearing at the Women in Cinema gala organized by the Red Sea Film Foundation. Recalling how Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s appearance at Cannes left a lasting impression on her, Huma said: “I used to watch Aishwarya come here and do red carpet moments.

“She continued, describing the cultural value of world cinema events, saying: “Filmmaking with nuance and geographical nuances is at its best where you have emotive stories that transcend barriers.”Huma Qureshi plays the lead role in ToxicOn the work front, Huma will next be seen in ‘Toxic’, where she will share screen space with Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Yash. According to the film’s male lead, the female characters will be “strong women who take responsibility for their lives and survive in any situation.”
