Netflix Big mistakes Not only did the audience laugh, but so did the cast and crew while filming, especially Dan Levy and the Miami drug scene.

During a screening and Q&A Saturday night at a special Netflix FYSEE event, the co-creator and star detailed how he brought the cocaine scene to life on-screen in the first season.

“Doing lines and lines of cocaine was really fun,” Levy joked, drawing laughter from the room. “I’ve never done cocaine before, and actors who do drugs badly, and look like someone who’s never done drugs before, is my worst nightmare as an actor. So when we were shooting these scenes, it was like icing sugar, and I was talking to the camera department and I’m like, ‘I want you to have me do the whole line, and hold the camera up.’ I want the audience to know that I actually dropped this thing. I don’t want to cut it. I don’t want it to look like I cheated. “I want you to do it and we’re going to film it over and over again until you get it right.

before Schitt’s Creek The alum shared how members of the show’s crew helped make sure he was using drugs “correctly” on screen, and wondered if he had to admit that “we’re at Netflix HQ.” He continued, jokingly saying, “Anyway, it’s okay. Everyone’s having a good time.”

“I said to our crew, I say, ‘Listen, if anyone got involved in drugs, I wouldn’t say your name. You don’t have to reveal yourself to me. This is a free space, but if you want to wander through the moderators and see if I’m doing it right, pull me aside and offer some constructive criticism, that would be welcome. This is a welcome space for you. I celebrate what you do on the weekends. “But I needed him as an actor,” Levy recalls.

“So we’re filming the scene, and a couple of people came up and said, ‘Give it a little time then, once it hits you, you’ll feel X, Y, Z.’ I think you’re glassy-eyed at this point.” And I say, “Glassy-eyed, I get it, I get it, I get it.” “Okay, thanks,” he continued. “We had an incredibly generous crew, so thanks to the crew for their generosity.”

Big mistakesCo-written by Levy and Rachel Sinnott, the film follows two directionless brothers, Nicky (Levi) and Morgan (Taylor Ortega), who are blackmailed into the world of organized crime. The series also stars Abby Quinn, Puran Kuzum, Jack Inanen, Laurie Metcalfe, Jacob Gutierrez, and Elizabeth Perkins.

Elsewhere during the conversation, Levi also scoffed Big mistakes Season 2, for which he is currently working on the script.

“I’m in the middle of Season 2. I know what half the season looks like, I know how it ends. I know how the show ends anyway. You kind of have to know how your series is going to end until you write it, I think, especially something like this,” he said, adding that Season 2 is “bigger and bolder and sexier. It’s really exciting this season, for everyone. It’s really exciting.”

“I’m thrilled. I knew exactly what I wanted,” Levy continued. “We have an incredible room of writers who are so dedicated and so passionate about the series. It’s my job as a writer and actor to serve this amazing cast with dialogue and stories that continue to push them further, and continue to challenge them as actors.” [and] Continue to idolize them as incredible talents worth paying attention to. So that’s the goal, to keep raising the bar and keep telling the story and keep allowing more and more warmth and love into the show as it’s earned.
