Shefali Shah opens up Motherhood And raising children
Speaking candidly on Lilly Singh’s podcast, the host asked Shefali Shah how she navigates the hype around traditional male-wife narratives while raising two sons; The actress did not mince her words.Shefali said, “Our daughters will be safe if our sons are brought up properly. I thought of this line that I told them, which I think suits everyone. Treat others the way you are expected to treat yourself.
It’s really that simple. There is nothing more and nothing less.”
The actress added: “The rest… there’s a lot of noise. Would you want to be treated like that? No? Don’t do that to someone else.”Shefali Shah also spoke about the limits of parental control and the uncertainty that comes with raising children who will eventually form their own views.“Did it work? I won’t know until they’re 30,” she added.
They are growing. They will have their own views. They’ll want to refute everything an adult or parent says… If they’re going to behave badly, I won’t take responsibility for it. I cannot. I did my best… This person has a mind of his own. I did what I could. “I think they looked half decent.”
