Aura Entertainment Acquires Renny Harlin, Samuel L. Jackson’s The Beast for US (Exclusive)

Aura Entertainment has acquired US rights to The monstera new action thriller film written by Renny Harlin (Interesting ending, die hard 2), starring Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman.

Jackson plays an American president who is under attack while a militia group attempts a coup. He is captured inside the presidential limousine, codenamed “The Beast” by the Secret Service, and discovers that the vehicle is also a superweapon with top-secret offensive capabilities. He decides to use the machine, as the trailer puts it, “to fight his way back to safety, his country, and the woman he loves.”

The monster Season 5 is produced by Keith Kjarval, Wayne Godfrey, Nikki Cortese, Rob Van Norden, and John Logan Pearson. Aura Entertainment is planning a Q4 theatrical release of the film.

The monster “It’s exactly the kind of movie that brings audiences back to theaters,” said Mark Goldberg, CEO of Aura Entertainment. “Renny Harlin knows how to deliver action at the highest level, and with Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman at the helm, this movie will be a must-see event. We couldn’t be more excited to bring it to audiences this fall.”

The deal was negotiated by Goldberg on behalf of Aura and by WME Independent on behalf of the filmmakers. WME Independent represents international sales on the title.

The monster Adds to Aura’s growing list. The company, which was launched by Capstone Studios, Signature Entertainment and Ascending Media Group ahead of last year’s Cannes Film Market, has since begun rolling out action comedies.
