Just days after officially announcing their breakup, Mouni Roy and Sooraj Nambiar have once again started following each other on Instagram, suggesting that the former couple is trying to maintain an amicable equation despite their breakup.Before the announcement, fans had already started speculating about there being trouble in their marriage after they noticed that Mouni and Suraj had unfollowed each other on social media. Adding fuel to the rumors, Mouni’s close friend Disha Patani also unfollowed Sooraj around the same time.Reports also claimed that the Brahmāstra: Part 1 – Shiva actress has removed several pictures with Suraj from her Instagram profile.
The couple announced the separation through a joint statement
On May 14, Mouni and Sooraj officially confirmed their breakup through a joint statement on Instagram.“We would like to express that we have chosen to separate and are taking the necessary time to handle matters privately and amicably,” the statement read.Shortly after making the announcement, the two resumed following each other on Instagram. However, Disha is yet to follow Suraj back yet.Interestingly, Mouni also continues to keep her wedding photos from 2022 on her profile.
Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar got married in Goa in 2022
The former couple got married in Panaji, Goa, in January 2022 with two separate wedding ceremonies – one following Bengali traditions and the other based on Malayali customs.
Mouni had met Suraj on New Year’s Eve 2019 in Dubai, and they dated for about three years before getting married.
An old interview with Suraj Nambiar has resurfaced
Amid the ongoing discussions about their breakup, an old interview with Sooraj has resurfaced online.In the interview, the Dubai-based businessman admitted that he was initially hesitant about getting married. While Mouni was reportedly ready to commit much earlier, Sooraj delayed the decision until she finally gave him an ultimatum of ‘get married or it’s the fast road’.
