French President Emmanuel Macron is once again facing online rumors after a new book claimed his wife Brigitte Macron became angry over alleged messages he sent to Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani. The allegations quickly spread online after conservative commentator Candace Owens responded to the story during her podcast this week. The controversy began after journalist Florian Tardif discussed details from his newly published book A perfect couple (almost). During an interview with RTL France on May 12, Tardif claimed that Brigitte Macron slapped the French president after she allegedly saw a message he sent to Farahani that reportedly said: “I find you very beautiful.”
The story brought attention back to a widely circulated video from last year that showed Brigitte Macron pushing Emmanuel Macron as they got off a plane in Vietnam. At the time, Macron dismissed the moment and said the couple were simply joking.Candace Owens had a strong reaction to the latest report during her podcast on Wednesday. The political commentator questioned these allegations and indicated that he did not believe the story.“Like everyone kind of knows Emmanuel Macron as I do. So this is not believable, on the face of it, that Brigitte Macron and Emmanuel Macron are arguing because he’s messaging some famous actress, but that’s what they’re doing,” Owens said.
Candace Owens says Brigitte Macron’s lawsuit meeting could happen in June
according to Le ParisienSources close to Brigitte Macron denied the allegations in Florian Tardif’s book. One source reportedly said that the French First Lady outright dismissed the story and insisted that she never checks her husband’s phone.
Actress Golshifteh Farahani also previously denied rumors that linked her romantically to Emmanuel Macron.Even as the controversy continues online, Candace Owens is still embroiled in a legal battle with the French First Couple. Last year, Emmanuel and Brigitte Macron filed a defamation lawsuit against Owens in Delaware after she repeatedly claimed that Brigitte Macron was born a man. Owens later released a video series titled Become BrigitteShe made many controversial and unverified allegations about the couple.During her latest broadcast, Owens hinted that she might revisit the topic before the court hearing, which she said is expected to take place in June.“You know, we’re just getting closer to the court. I think June is the meeting. I’m looking forward to it. And I hope that one day Brigitte and I will meet in person. I think that should happen,” Owens said.Earlier this year, several people were convicted in France in a cyberbullying case linked to internet abuse targeting Brigitte Macron. Owens responded to that news on social media and continues to criticize the French First Lady despite the ongoing lawsuit. In another controversial claim last year, Owens also claimed that Macron’s family “paid the price for her assassination,” although she did not provide evidence to support her statement.
