Michael Jackson's Estate: His Daughter Paris Jackson Wins $625,000 Legal Case; Court ruling, 'Payments must be returned'

Michael Jackson, known as the King of Pop, was a dominant figure online and in the headlines, even after his death. As the biopic caught the attention of fans of the beloved star, songs and music videos took over social media for their enduring melodies.

Meanwhile, Paris Jackson, the late singer’s daughter, has won her case regarding his estate. The 28-year-old had raised legal notices regarding bonuses paid to third parties worth US$625,000 by estate executors.

By ruling a Los Angeles judge in a 23-page document, monies paid to third-party law firms by executors John Branca and John McLean were declared disallowed. The $625,000, which was used as an additional bonus, must be returned to the estate.

“Ms. Jackson’s objection to bonus payments of $625,000 in the second six months of 2018 remains ongoing. The bonus payments have not been approved; they are not permitted.

The payments should be returned to the estate,” the proposal reads, according to the people.“The arbitrator cannot find that the bonus payments are fair and reasonable based on the information provided,” said the retired judge who worked on Michael Jackson’s will case and now serves as a special arbitrator, according to Rolling Stone, before adding: “Indeed, based on the evidence presented, the bonus amounts paid appear to be arbitrary — what Mr. Jackson said.”

Branca decided it was appropriate.

Paris Jackson’s position on the issue

Paris Jackson’s spokesperson stated that the actress focused on what was best for the family, and this ruling comes as a huge win. “The Jackson estate is supposed to be a prudent and financially responsible entity that supports the Jackson family – not an illegitimate trust to help John Branca realize his Hollywood fantasies,” they claimed.Disclaimer: This report is a journalistic report of the court’s recent development.
