Behind the team of 1,200 people Rupture Some additional compensation has been scored for their work.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Artists Equity, which is behind the film, revealed on Wednesday that it had paid a performance bonus to the film’s cast and crew.
The move comes after the production company negotiated a unique deal with Netflix that would give them a bonus if they meet viewing limits. Typically, Netflix only pays an upfront fee rather than offering incentive rewards for watching.
“We built Artists’ Rights on the belief that filmmakers should share in the value they bring to a project,” Affleck and Damon said in a statement. “Amazing cast and crew Rupture is no exception. All of them played a crucial role in making this film a success. We are grateful for their work and happy to see them connecting so deeply with audiences. We would also like to thank Netflix for believing in this project and the unique structure surrounding it. This is a great proof point for our new partnership, and we are confident that it will be only the first of many shared outcomes.
The crime drama bowed in January to 41.6 million viewers during its first three days and was praised by director Joe Carnahan.
Launched in 2022, Artists Equity is funded by Gerry Cardinale and RedBird Capital Partners, and promotes a business model in which everyone who worked on a film gets a cut of the profits.
The company gave a first look at Netflix which launched in March following Rupture. Upcoming, directed by Affleck Animals It is set for NetfliS. He stars opposite Steven Yeun, Kerry Washington and Gillian Anderson.
Affleck and Damon first revealed their deal with Netflix for Odds to cut reward back in January, with Affleck stating at the time: “We wanted to establish equity and address some of the real, current, pressing issues of our business.”
