Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets milk and dairy products under the Amul brand, said on Wednesday that it has raised fresh milk prices by $2 per liter across major variants as of May 14.

The increase applies to fresh milk sold across India. The adjustment translates into an increase of about 2.5% to 3.5% per litre, which it said is lower than prevailing food price inflation, GCMMF said in a statement.
She added that this is the first price adjustment since May 2025, when the union last increased milk prices.
The union attributed the increase to the increase in the total cost of operations and milk production. She said there has been a significant increase in the cost of livestock feed, milk packaging films and fuel over the past year.
GCMMF also said its member unions have increased the procurement prices paid to farmers $30 per kilogram of fat, an increase of 3.7% compared to May 2025.
“Amul, as a policy, passes on nearly Rs 80 lakh of every rupee paid by consumers for milk and dairy products to milk producers,” the federation said, adding that the review aims to maintain remunerative prices for farmers and encourage increased milk production.
In Gujarat, covering Ahmedabad, Saurashtra and Kutch markets, the revised Amul Taza prices show at $57 per liter, up from $55 while Amul Gold (500 ml) has been increased to $35 of $34. It will now cost you Amul Buffalo Milk (500 ml). $39 vs $37 previously, and Amul T Special (1 litre) has been raised to $66, up $3.
