Less than a week after taking oath in West Bengal, the Suvendu Adhikari-led government has launched an online tracker, showing the real status of the pre-poll promises made by the BJP.

Of the 140 promises made during the poll campaign, 11 were promises – including financial support $3000 for women and campaign on infiltration – in progress.
The tracking, the first of its kind, comes as the BJP makes inroads in Bengal for the first time in its history, with Suvendu Adhikari ending Mamata Banerjee’s three-term government in West Bengal, a Trinamool Congress stronghold.
The portal, titled ‘BJP Sarkar Promises’, also showed a timer indicating the time remaining to fulfill the 129 pending promises of the Suvendu government: ’04 years, 11 months, 25 days, 18 hours, 44 minutes, 30 seconds’ to be precise, as of 8:07 pm on Wednesday.
After taking oath as Prime Minister on May 9, Suvendu Adhikari said in his first Cabinet meeting that his government had decided to transfer the land to Border Security Forces for construction of a fence along the Bangladesh border and agreed to immediately implement central schemes like Ayushman Bharat and census exercise in the state. He also announced that his government would provide ₹3000 for women”> $$3,000 for women in the state, increased age limit for government jobs, and legal aid for victims of political struggle.
The online tracker also shows promises like ending retrenchment culture, implementation of Uniform Civil Code, AIIMS/IIT/IIM in North Bengal in progress.
Suvendu to resign from the post of Nandigram MLA
Suvendu Adhikari took oath as MLA in the Legislative Assembly after a landslide victory from Nandigram and Bhabanipur in the Assembly elections. However, the CM took oath as Bhabanipur MLA, paving the way for his re-election to the seat.
He was welcomed and received with a guard of honor at the Council. As a mark of respect, Mr. Adhikari bowed on the steps of the Legislative Assembly before entering the house.
The 2026 Assembly election results marked a crucial mandate for the BJP, as it registered a major surge, winning 206 seats in the 294-member Assembly. The TMC, which won 212 seats in the last assembly elections, came in second place by a wide margin, winning 80 seats and leading in one constituency.
