Billy Bob Thornton has a reason to keep his political views to himself.
During a recent interview on Howie Mandel does things podcast, Landman The star and host spoke about whether celebrities are qualified to use their public platforms to offer advice.
“What we are experts at, just like the person listening, is being human.” America’s got talent The judge said. “So, if you can be open and share who you are, how you feel, how you cope, that will definitely do something.”
Thorton agreed with Howie Mandel, saying it’s “much more important than an actor or actress or musician telling people, as you said, who to vote for, because I mean somebody’s on the fence you know, like Dash Rip Rock said that at the Golden Globes, so [that’s who] “I vote for.”
“I don’t know anything about politics,” the Oscar winner continued. “I have no idea. And the things I believe about it, I don’t want to force it down somebody else’s throat because I’m not an expert on it. What I’m an expert on is that this bullshit exists.”
Mandel added that people should not blindly trust the opinion of any public figure because, ultimately, “they don’t know us.”
“The fact that people put so much gravity on it [into] “This is a group of people who are faking things. Just because you played a doctor doesn’t make you a doctor. Just because you played a hero doesn’t make you a hero,” he said. And the people listening to you, no matter how much we talk, don’t know us. “It’s a small circle of people who know you, and know you enough to trust your opinion.”
Elsewhere during his conversation with Mandel, Thorton also talked about following a very restrictive diet due to food allergies to dairy, wheat, shellfish and some meat due to his rare blood type.
“I have an AB negative blood type, which is the rarest type in the world. It represents less than 1 percent of the blood type.” [U.S] The world’s population owns it.” Sling blade The actor said. “It means you have less digestive enzymes. That’s one of the things that goes along with it.” Having fewer digestive enzymes means your body cannot break down foods.
“I grew up with a lot of allergies as a kid. I grew up in Arkansas and East Texas, and I ate everything,” Thorton added. “I assumed everyone felt bad after eating. I didn’t know.”
