Netflix has given a name to the Las Vegas-set drama starring Oscar Isaac and has begun filling out the cast.
The series from Billions Creators Brian Kopelman and David Levine will be called and executive produced by Martin Scorsese Roman. Betty Gilpin, Alec Baldwin, and David Costabile joined Isaac in the cast.
Roman The film revolves around Isaac’s character, Robert “Bobby Reed” Redman, the boss of a hot hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The show will chronicle his efforts to secure and expand his position in the city.
Gilpin, a three-time Emmy Award nominee (Death by lightning, glare) will play Marla Blake, Bobby’s wife and a well-connected lawyer who knows the dark corners of Las Vegas like her husband. Baldwin will play Paul “Primo” Clark, a Vegas business legend and surrogate father to Bobby who doesn’t mind his henchmen fighting for his benefit.
Costabile, who was a regular on Billions, plays Bill Safrik, another Vegas casino manager who is a personal friend but professional rival of Bobby.
Koppelman and Levine will serve as directors and writers on the series. They are executive producing with Scorsese (via Sikelia Productions); Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Extended Media; JC Chandor, who is directing the first two episodes; and Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter, and Isaac, who recently signed a first-look deal with Netflix through his company Mad Gene. Kerry Orient is co-executive producer.
Gilpin is repped by CAA, Anonymous Content and Hansen Jacobson. Baldwin is repped by UTA and manager Matt Delpiano. Costabile is with Verve and Gartner Group Entertainment.
