Opposition leaders on Tuesday strongly criticized the Center for canceling the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) held on May 3 over fears of paper leakage, and accused the government of being “negligent” towards the future of students.

Alleging “systemic corruption” in the education system and negligence by the government, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that the “Amrit Kaal” promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned into an “age of poison” for the country as students’ dreams are “crushed”.
“The hard work, sacrifices and dreams of over 22 lakh students have been crushed by the corrupt BJP [Bharatiya Janata Party] order. Gandhi said in a post on the
He claimed that the “paper mafia” faces no consequences while students will have to bear the uncertainty, psychological pressure and financial burden. “This is not just a failure; it is a crime against the future of the youth. Every time the paper mafia escapes and honest students bear the punishment. Now, thousands of students will again suffer from the same mental pressure, financial burden and uncertainty. If one’s destiny is not decided by hard work but by money and connections, then what meaning will education have? The so-called Amrit Kaal launched by the Prime Minister has turned into a toxic era for the country,” he said.

The BJP should be ashamed because “the foundations of the nation, including the education system, have been weakened,” the X post said.
“Every year, paper leaks shatter thousands of dreams, ruin lives of students, but their pain is invisible to BJP leaders, as their children are comfortably studying abroad. It’s true – PM Modi and his government have hollowed out the examination system, where the aspirations of the youth are being stifled and the foundations of the nation weakened. They should be ashamed.”
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal said, “This is not the first time NEET exam paper leak has happened. This has happened four times. It just means that there is political collusion and nepotism. What is happening in this country? People who cannot give the exam properly, who will run the government? It is a case of complete collusion. My sympathy is with the aspirants. I want to tell them that this government only understands ‘Andolan’ language, and Kejriwal will stand by them.”
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai said, “The National Testing Agency (NTA) is a repository for the RSS. [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh]He claimed that the cancellation was a “justification” for the party’s approach to medical entrance exams.
“NEET exams have been canceled for this year. NEET exams have been canceled for this year,” he said in a post on X. It is a proof of what the DMK has always stood for. Cancel NEET and take admission on the basis of +2 marks.”

Hassan claimed that none of the previous versions of the exam had been conducted smoothly. “So far, I do not recall a single NEET exam being conducted without allegations of malpractices. That is why we are fighting to bring education back on the state list. Indian students must be protected from this unfair NEET test and the mafia working behind it,” he said.
