Abhishek Bachchan left fans with a pleasant surprise on Tuesday, when it was announced that he is the co-owner of a franchise in the upcoming European T20 Premier League (ETPL), along with cricket legend Rahul Dravid.The actor, who is currently working on the action film ‘King’ with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, showed off his villainous avatar, wearing a suit with a sleek hairstyle and a cool beard.

Bachchan shared the pictures with Rahul Dravid on his social media account, which immediately received an applause from his sister Shweta Bachchan.

The announcement also led to fans cheering the collaboration between the Bollywood star and the former Indian cricket captain, describing the partnership as an exciting step. “My childhood heroes together,” one fan said, while another added, “My childhood dream.” Another added: “My two favorites in one frame!”

Speaking to ANI, Bachchan, who already owns a Kabaddi team and is an active member of the Celebrity Football League, said the cricket league aims to establish itself as a world-class tournament in Europe while showcasing the best international talent.

“I think the expectation should be one, which is to hold a world-class cricket tournament in Europe. I am very happy to point out that with the kind of people already signed in terms of players, I think that promise should be fulfilled,” he said in a statement.

“When you have some of the best cricketing talent coming in and playing, I think that speaks volumes about the kind of intent we have about what we are trying to achieve,” he added.The inaugural ETPL season will feature 33 matches across six city franchises representing Glasgow, Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Dublin, Belfast and Rotterdam.
