Who would have thought that the star of the 2026 intros would be a star Rural juror?
Jane Krakowski has spent a lot of time so far on 2026 introductions as Toyota’s media buyer. On Monday morning, Krakowski entertained the NBCUniversal audience with a song-and-dance performance Celebration NBC 100th Anniversary Sale. Krakowski was such a character 30 RockJenna Maroney flanked by co-stars Tina Fey and Tracy Morgan. She was also completely in her performing element at Radio City Music Hall. (30 Rock It celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year.)
After lunch and hopefully some vocal rest, Krakowski opened the Fox show alongside her co-host, Jane Lynch. Krakowski hosts Fox Name this tune; Lynch is hosting his reboot The weakest link. The moment called for more of what Broadway star Krakowski did (Oh Mary!) works better, but seems to have been let down by technology and (possibly) lack of training time.
Except for the backup dancers, everything fell flat in Janes’ Fox’s performance. There was something off with their microphones, and their speakers weren’t any better. It was difficult to know if they knew who would sing which words and what the next movement would be. It wasn’t…ready for Radio City, so it’s a good thing Fox’s 2026 was held in New York City Center — known in the TV ad industry as the place where The CW broadcasts user You have advance.
Let me be clear, I do not blame the Jane family for Fox’s performance. I think their written words may have been foul, but I couldn’t hear enough of them to be sure. The theater in downtown New York is also only big enough for one Jane at a time when there are plenty of side kicks.
The craziest part is that we probably haven’t seen the last of Krakowski this week — or today, really. Krakowski’s Christmas movie The man with the bag (Amazon MGM Studios), starring Alan Ritchson (Amazon The arrival), Awkwafina, Ken Jeong and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Santa, coming this holiday season to Prime Video.
Amazon’s show is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM ET from the Beacon Theater, which is where Fox used to host its event. We’ll see what, if anything, Krakowski has in store for us there, and perhaps beyond? It’s not too late to pick up the net MILF Island to string.
