Anil Kapoor recently spoke about the criticism surrounding Sandeep Reddy’s Vanga Animal and shared how profound the father-son scenes in the film were for him and co-star Ranbir Kapoor.Speaking to The Indian Express, the actor said that although people can have different opinions about the film after its release, the team has handled the project with complete sincerity.
“No one knows what discussions will happen after the release.”
Responding to the discussions and criticism surrounding the film, Anil Kapoor said that it is their responsibility as actors to portray the characters given to them truthfully.“As an artist and actor, you give your best for the character and the role.
“No one really knows before the release what discussions or criticisms will happen next.”The actor added that the team worked very sincerely on the emotional core of the film, especially the complex father-son relationship that appears between his character and Ranbir Kapoor’s characters.

Speaking about the intense emotional scenes in the film, Anil revealed that he and Ranbir drew heavily from their real-life experiences and family relationships.
“We delved a lot into our personal experiences. Ranbir’s relationship with his father, my relationship with my son, my relationship with my father – all those dynamics played out behind the scenes.”He further explained that although the dialogues may have been written differently, the emotional angst behind the scenes was very real for both actors.“The lines may have been different, but the feelings underneath were very real for both of us,” he added.

“Those slaps and confrontations were discussed in detail.”
Anil Kapoor also spoke about the controversial father-son confrontation scenes in the film, including aggressive grabbing and slapping moments.He revealed that many of those scenes were largely improvised during discussions between him, Ranbir Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.“Actors often say: Don’t hit too hard, just one slap.” But here the thought process was different.
“We discussed how angry the father could realistically be in this situation,” he explained.According to the actor, the emotional power of the scenes came from those conversations and improvisations during rehearsals.“Ranbir, the director and I would sit together and discuss all the dynamics. The credit goes to the director for getting the best out of those discussions,” he said.
“The collar grab was definitely real.”
When asked if the physical encounters in the film were real, Anil admitted that some parts were real, though exaggerated for their cinematic effect.He added: “In films, there is always some exaggeration of drama. A slap or two may happen in reality, but cinema makes it more dramatic.”But he explained that some physical moments, especially aggressive strikes during confrontations, were realistic.“But yes, the collar grabbing was definitely real,” he added.
