This project will be a Netflix release.

It is produced by Legendary Pictures in partnership with Bandi Namco Filmworks.

Gundam (in all its many iterations) is one of the most iconic sci-fi properties on the planet. It’s on par with Star Wars, and has been around for about the same time.

In essence, Gundam It is about war – its horrors, its impact on the population and young people, and the depravity of those who commit the atrocities.

On a more superficial level, it’s about teenagers and young adults piloting mobile suits — massive space-faring “robots” capable of fighting with guns, laser swords, “arcades” (long story), and other weapons, in space and on Earth.

The titular Gundam tends to represent the pinnacle of mobile suit design. In some Gundam Characteristics: Highly advanced pilots are able to communicate with their devices – and even with each other’s minds. Rarely, even from beyond the grave.

(Yes, it’s a bit like the movie The Force in.) star wars.)

the first Gundam The anime premiered in 1979. It’s absolutely worth watching, even if you have to be prepared for some weird stuff that is, at least in part, a product of its time.

Here comes the role of the “controversial” scenes.

Its release in the 1970s meant characters were sometimes depicted doing horrific things – like beating each other up – which at the time were meant to be dramatic, or depict the tensions of war.

There are also controversial nude scenes. Even among people who generally He loves Nudity in their media.

We’re not referring to the time when “Newtype” pilots (one of several classifications throughout the modifications) communicate with each other, appearing as naked silhouettes in space even in the heat of battle.

There are scenes of women and girls bathing, often accompanied by children – which is probably how the scenes were intended to be depicted at the time. less Voyeur. In the modern lens, animation is uncomfortable that way.

Even as contracts continue, such as amendments Mobile Suit Gundam: MS Team 8 Distinctive moments of animated nudity that felt like fan service. But rarely has it been as controversial as the first few series’ depictions of women and teenage girls.

Throughout her career, Sweeney has gone back and forth when it comes to on-screen nudity.

trance It is an HBO series that contains a fair amount of nudity. Sweeney was no exception.

However, in the early years of her rise to fame, she deliberately avoided excessive sex, focusing instead on her acting.

Only in recent years, especially in light of her involuntary politicization, has she turned to using her body to sell clothes.

That’s a very long way of saying that she played a pet in the OnlyFans scene on Euphoria and will likely appear in a sexy role again in the future.

Does this mean she could possibly show her skin for Netflix’s “Gundam” movie?

We hate to crush everyone’s dreams, but Netflix would likely be ashamed to make any of them happen TRUE Nudity in this project.

Even if some Gundam Real estate and Netflix properties have put on a full front, and our culture’s puritanical crusade against the most basic aspects of humanity makes even the “spicy” streamers hesitant to lean into nudity.

Plus, though Gundam It’s been on the air in one form or another since long before many of us were born, and even though it’s essentially a story about war, the ignorant idiots who ruin so much television are likely trying to pass this off as something teenagers can watch.

Hey, we love being wrong! We love to be pleasantly surprised.

But we won’t hold our breath.

While we wish things on Gundamthe most important thing we hope to see is Sweeney playing, not the hero or love interest, but Char Aznable or his counterpart.

Char (and its various disguised counterparts in various iterations of Gundam) is a frustrating character for the lead pilot – usually, anyway.

He’s a war hero to the bad guys, with more skill and experience than a hapless teenager who just fell into (or stole) an advanced mobile suit.

Sweeney would be amazing in this role.

We can imagine her, wearing a uniform and clear mask, piloting the Red Comet. Or glaze. We’d love to see that.
