For weeks now, the Mike Vrabel and Diana Russini situation has been the biggest scandal of the NFL offseason.
While we still don’t know if there’s anything sexual going on between these two, it seems that for a married couple, they’ve been spending a lot of time together.
We already know that Vrabel and Rossini rented a boat together while she was pregnant with their first child, and now it looks as if they also made an awkward appearance at Barstool Sports together.
The irreverent outlet was hosting a Family disputeSimilar to a remote game show during the pandemic, Rossini gave a response that seems even more regressive in retrospect.
“So Diana, what’s something you would close your eyes to do?” the previous athlete The reporter asked.
“When you have sex with your husband or wife,” Diana answered, with the host noting that the questions were taken from the kids’ version of Family Feud.
The clip resurfaced and went viral this week.
For obvious reasons, Barstool founder and CEO Dave Portnoy, a Patriots fan, wasn’t a fan of the footage.
He said on Twitter: “What a damned clip! I deny it! This can’t be real.” “Can we play some football! Hut Hut! Blue 42! Blue 42! Hut! Hut!”
This isn’t the first time Rossini has made statements about her husband, Shake Shack CEO Kevin Goldschmidt, that rubbed some people the wrong way.
“I’m married to an average person. I don’t post a lot about him. If I were married to a beautiful person, I would over-post too,” she said during an appearance on ESPN in 2021, just months after she married Goldscheidt.
“So the guy’s got a heart of gold, and here I am on national TV killing him / Look, we’re average together, but he makes me above average ’cause he married me,” she continued, adding:
“I’m so sorry, I want to stop killing my husband on TV. I’ll be divorced by Christmas!”
Rossini was clearly joking. But those jokes hit differently in the weeks after photos surfaced of Rossini hugging and holding hands (both parties are still married to other people).
“I’ve had some difficult conversations with the people I care about — my family, the organization, the coaches and the players,” the New England Patriots coach said in a statement about the issue.
For her part, Rossini resigned from her position in The athlete Shortly after posting the photos.
