'Kara' box office collection day 10: Dhanush's film sees small weekend growth; Collects Rs 1.17 croreKara’s Day 10 set shows a slight improvementAccording to Sacnilk, ‘Kara’ has collected a net collection of Rs 1.17 crore in India on the 10th, which is the second Saturday.

This is an increase from the Rs 96 lakh collected on the ninth day.‘Kara’ has collected Rs 30.26 crore during its first week in theatres. On the ninth day, the film added Rs 96 lakh to its domestic tally. The 10th day brought in Rs 1.17 crore, taking the film’s total net collection in India to Rs 32.39 crore. The film’s total Hindi collection has now reached Rs 37.34 crore.Overseas earnings and global gross for “Kara”So far, ‘Kara’ has grossed Rs 10.20 crore globally. The film’s worldwide gross collection rose to Rs 47.54 crore after 10 days. The film is now close to crossing Rs 50 crore worldwide.ETimes’ review of Kara says: “What Vignesh does well is let each player have his corner in the ring. Jayaram plays a regional bank manager as he quietly hollows out the system from the inside. His actions cover basically every bank scandal you might have seen. DSP Bharathan is the cop chasing Karasaami, and the film smartly resists making him an unsavory character.”

He needs to arrest Kara not because justice demands it, but because he wants to become famous.

Kandhasaami, Karasaami’s father, packs emotional substance into his short screen time with little fuss. It’s why Kara’s return to crime carries any emotional charge at all. This triangle gives the film more weight than the usual thief saga. The Robin Hood angle is an easy-to-read point of view: banks are bleeding illiterate villagers with papers they can’t decipher.

While Kara begins stealing for his own reasons (to repay his father’s loan and claim the land back), it soon turns into the story of the entire district as ordinary citizens succumb to debt and piles of paperwork. You can see how this outlaw is turning into a local legend little by little.
