New Delhi: Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill was full of energy when he arrived at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur for Saturday’s IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals.Gill, dressed in shorts and a training T-shirt, entered the stadium building and shared a touching moment with his father, Lakhwinder Singh, who was standing near the entry gate.
The Gujarat Titans skipper first greeted his father before shaking his hand, and the heartfelt video quickly won the hearts of many on social media.

Gill later backed up the jubilant pre-match mood with a thrilling knock after Gujarat Titans put on the bat. The stylish opener smashed 84 off just 44 balls to take GT to 229/4 in 20 overs. His explosive innings was studded with nine fours and four sixes.Gill also put together a powerful 118-run opening partnership with Sai Sudharsan, giving Gujarat Titans a perfect platform. Sudharsan contributed 55 off his 36 deliveries, smashing six boundaries and two sixes during his fluent knock.
Apart from Gill and Sudharsen, Washington Sundar played a crucial role, remaining unbeaten with 37 off just 20 balls to boost GT’s total.Earlier, Rajasthan Royals stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal won the toss and chose to field first against Gujarat Titans.
