AIMIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday alleged that Muslims are being targeted under a “planned agenda” and claimed that issues like Special Intensive Review (SIR) are being linked to the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).

Addressing a press conference in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambaginagar, Owaisi said the Supreme Court had made mapping mandatory and claimed that if mapping is not done, it will be done using the names of the parents.
He also claimed that the app works through location tracking, and claimed that while verifying 27,000 names, 97 per cent of them belonged to Muslims.
He added: “Muslims are trapped within a planned agenda, and all of this is done on the basis of hatred. The whole matter will be brought before the court, and charges can be brought against anyone.”
Appealing to AIMIM voters, Owaisi said that the issue is not limited to Muslims alone, but concerns all sections of society.
“The SIR is linked with the NRC and NPR. The NRC and NPR will be handled by the Home Ministry. The Supreme Court said that mapping is necessary and if mapping is not done, it will be done using the names of the parents,” Asaduddin Owaisi said in Sambhajinagar.
Referring to the Nida Khan case, Owaisi said Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had clarified that Nida Khan was not an HR employee. He alleged that her name was published even before the FIR was registered and accused the ruling party of conducting a media trial.
“TCS made it clear that Nida Khan was not an HR employee. Even before the FIR was registered, her name was made public and the ruling party conducted a media trial,” Owaisi said.
Owaisi also questioned the references in the FIR that the burqa was recovered from the woman’s home, asking whether the burqa had been made illegal. He also wondered what was wrong if someone had books related to Prophet Muhammad or Urdu poetry.
The AIMIM president said the matter would be taken up in court and alleged that the charges were made on the basis of hatred.
Referring to the 1993 Bombay blasts, 2008 Malegaon blasts and 2020 Delhi riots, Owaisi said attention should also be given to the well-being of the families of the victims.
Hasan Siddiqui, a resident of Hyderabad, was also allegedly arrested by Chandigarh police and sent to jail.
Speaking to the ‘Vande Mataram’ programme, Owaisi said: “There was a correspondence between Rabindranath Tagore and Subhas Chandra Bose on the issue. ‘Vande Mataram’ appears in the book Anandamath by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay.”
He said that during the drafting of the constitution and its preamble, suggestions were made to start it in the name of the gods, but that was not adopted.
