Over the years, the veteran actress has played a lot of roles that have remained with fans over the years. From romantic comedies to action thrillers, she’s done it all, but there are some topics she’ll never touch. While speaking with PEOPLE about her latest film, “Remarkable Bright Creatures,” the star also talked about some specific roles she’s always avoided like the plague.“I never take stories about women trying to find a man,” she commented during the interview, adding, “I didn’t like it then, and I don’t like it now, because I think women care much more about that.”Moreover, during the interview, she also mentioned that while growing up, she had a lot of feelings and many times she let them consume them. Through acting, she was able to channel her emotions into the character and make it her own.
Providing more details about this method, the actress indicated that she had a very complicated relationship with her parents when she was growing up in the 1950s. “I was filled with rage. Really full of rage, and it was that.” [acting coach] Lee Strasberg who allowed me to start tapping into it, so I wouldn’t let it consume me.
“She concluded her speech by saying that she used this method in one of her most famous roles, “Norma Rae,” and her director, Marty Ritt, encouraged her.

When they bring in a young man to take over the job, she is not happy, however, she still trains him for the job. Through this, they end up sharing the bond with each other, as well as one of the octopuses in the aquarium that she takes care of.
