In the same interview, Kriti spoke frankly about the difficulties that shaped her journey in the film industry. She talked about how she went through long periods of frustration and longing for more important roles, a feeling that continued until Mimi came along and changed things for her.
“There were roles that I came very close to, and they eventually went to star children, which was beyond my control. When you don’t come from a film background, there’s a lot of uncertainty you have to deal with.
It’s been a process of gradual growth, as I’ve taken risks and made more intentional choices. I’ve earned every opportunity. Nothing was delivered to me. There was a point where nothing was working, and I felt overwhelmed. However, I am grateful for that period, because it gave me clarity on what I did not want to pursue. She added: “Failure teaches you much more than success.”
