Sadia Khatib has worked in thrillers, dramas and romantic films over the course of five years in the industry, and now she is seen in her first comedy release titled ‘Daadi Ki Shaadi’, co-starring Kapil Sharma and Neetu Kapoor. In a recent conversation, she got candid about the non-negotiables she’s held dear since day one, her relationship with ambition, and why ethics aren’t a limitation but an essential part of her character.
Sadia Al-Khatib will not do a film in which she is portrayed
Ever since she made her debut in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Shikara’ in 2020, Sadia Khatib has been guided by one unwavering rule. In an interview with Variety India, she revealed, “The non-negotiable from day one was just one thing. That I didn’t want to be in a film where I was objectified.”She’s clear-eyed about her ambitions, too. Fame, success, and financial reward are all you want; However, only on its own terms. “I don’t want to be anywhere where I don’t feel respected or where I don’t feel like I’m included,” she said. “Those are non-negotiables. From day one.”The actress said her choices have always been driven by conviction rather than opportunity. “I’m very clear. I’m going to make films that have some meaning and some kind of connection.
I would never do a movie I didn’t like. “You have to give me something,” she explained.
Sadia Al-Khatib says she will not sell her soul for Rs 100 crore
During the same conversation, Sadia was also asked what she would do if she was offered Rs 100 crore. Unfazed by box office pressures, Saadia El Khatib offered insight into what success actually means to her.The actress said, “There is no one I have to go back and prove anything to, except myself. What will happen if I get Rs 100 crore now? I will still eat the same food.”
I will still be with the same people. Yes, I desperately want Rs 100 crore, but it will not change the way I live my life.”She went on to add, “I will not sell my soul for Rs 100 crore. I will do my best. I will do my best to achieve those crores. I will give everything I can in terms of effort. But I will not do anything that I am not comfortable with, that I do not accept, that does not resonate with me.”For the speaker, the boundaries you set are not restrictions; They are a reflection of who she is. “We all have a set of morals, which we sometimes call boundaries,” she said.
