The three leading ladies received large advance fees along with bonuses tied to their box office performance, Variety reported on Saturday.Oscar-winner Meryl Streep, who reprises her role as Miranda Priestly, has reportedly received a $12.5 million salary for her return for the David Frankel-directed sequel.
The report notes that Streep was considered the project’s most important creative and commercial draw, prompting 0th Century Studios to structure a highly competitive deal. Streep is said to have split par in the negotiations with her co-stars, Anne Hathaway, who plays Andrea Sachs, and Emily Blunt, who plays Emily Charlton.
The two actresses reportedly earned US$12.5 million each to reprise their roles.
In addition to their advance salaries, the three actors also get huge remuneration at the box office.
