Director Riteish Deshmukh’s historical war drama ‘Raja Shivaji’, based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has performed strongly at the box office, with its total collection approaching Rs 70 crore in India during its first week. The film, which has been released in Hindi and Marathi, has a star-studded cast and has been garnering huge attention since its debut.
Based on the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the epic drama ‘Raja Shivaji’ is getting all the love and attention right from the beginning. The Riteish Deshmukh-starrer historical war drama, buoyed by powerful performances by a multi-talented cast, has entered its second week.
Although the film has seen its fair share of ups and downs, within just 8 days of its release, it is aggressively heading towards a Rs 70 crore gross in India.

“Raja Shivaji” collection at the box office today 8th
Written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji sees him in the titular role. According to Sacnilk, on its eighth day, i.e. the second Friday after its release, the period drama has collected Rs 3.20 crore across 3,882 shows. It represents a 20 per cent decline from Thursday’s net collection of Rs 4.00 lakh crore.
With this, the total net collections in India have been taken to Rs 55.85 lakh crore so far, while the total has reached Rs 66.23 lakh crore.
At this pace, over the weekend, the film is expected to touch Rs 70 crore in gross collection in the domestic market.
