Dave Coulier shared a health update while addressing users online who commented on the changes to his voice and physical appearance.
the Full house The star took to Instagram on Thursday, telling his followers that “what you are seeing are the side effects of the intense radiation I went through due to my throat cancer.”
“Hey everyone, it’s me Dave, I haven’t posted in a long time, and the last time I posted, some of you said I looked and sounded different, and I do,” he began. “And what you’re seeing are the side effects of the intense radiation I went through because of the cancer in my throat.”
Coulier announced that he had been diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in November 2024, and later revealed in December that he had been diagnosed with p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue. The second diagnosis arrived a year after the end of lymphoma treatment.
“I haven’t been able to eat solid food for months, so I lost 45 pounds, that’s what you’re seeing,” Collier continued. “It affected my ability to speak; some of you said my voice was different. So you’re right about what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing.”
The actor shared a positive health update, explaining that he recently underwent a PET scan, and that “the prognosis looks good for both throat cancer and lymphoma, so we’re very happy about all of that.”
Nearly three months ago, Collier showed up Good morning Americawhere he revealed that he was in remission after undergoing surgery for tongue cancer, following additional treatment he received for stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
“It’s been a rollercoaster ride for sure,” he said on the TV show. “I’m in remission from both cancers. What a journey this has been.”
