Soon after Indian Army personnel held a press conference on Thursday on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan also did the same. Reacting to India’s statements during the media interaction, Pakistan team Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had a strange response: using English.

In his response to the press conference, Chaudhry said: “A short while ago, the Indian Director General of Surveillance and senior officials held a press conference. First of all, why are they speaking English? Is it because you want to tell the world what happened?”

A video of this counter is going viral, with users mocking its logic.

While India is marking the one-year anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the military operation that began to dismantle cross-border terrorist infrastructure on May 7, 2025, Pakistan also marked the anniversary of what it called “Marka Haq”.

according to Geographic newsChaudhry held the press conference alongside Admiral Shifaat Ali Khan and Air Vice Marshal Tariq Ghazi in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s claims on Op Sindoor

Chaudhary falsely claimed that India’s operation was “unjustified”. Operation Sindoor was announced to avenge the killing of 26 civilians in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025.

The Pakistani military official also claimed to have shot down Indian aircraft, an assertion that India has denied several times in the past.

In a press conference on Thursday, Indian Air Marshal AK Bharti enumerated the significant damage India inflicted on Pakistan during the four-day conflict last year. He said: “We struck and destroyed all nine of their terrorist camps on May 7. The proof is there for all to see. We struck 11 of their airfields. We destroyed 13 aircraft either on the ground or in the air, including a high-value aircraft airborne at a record distance of more than 300 kilometres.” He also clarified that neither India’s military nor civilian infrastructure suffered any damage in the conflict.

While Operation Sindoor was launched to target terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, it soon escalated into a military conflict after Pakistan targeted Indian Army bases for the first time.

Elaborating on what happened behind the operation, Air Marshal Bharti said the armed forces were given clear strategic direction along with complete operational freedom to execute the mission.

It is worth noting that Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said on Thursday that the country is open to dialogue with India, provided that the dialogue is “meaningful.” Andarabi said, according to what was reported by the Pakistani newspaper “Haaretz”, “Pakistan has never backed down from dialogue with India on any issue… We have repeatedly expressed our readiness for dialogue. However, dialogue needs two parties, and for it to be meaningful, it must be a dialogue and not a separate dialogue.” PTI News Agency a report.

India killed more than 100 terrorists in Operation Sindoor. Indian forces were not only able to deal with the terror infrastructure but also dealt a heavy blow to Pakistan’s military infrastructure, including the country’s frontline installations like the Murid and Nur Khan air bases.

According to Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Pakistan has also lost around 13 aircraft, including fighter jets such as US-made F-16s and Chinese-origin JF-17s, to India’s precision strikes.
