The IPL 2026 points table after the 50th match may not have brought drastic changes in the standings, but it turned out to be a very important result in the playoff race. Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost the bonus game advantage they previously enjoyed over many rivals after suffering defeat to Lucknow Super Giants, leaving them level on points with both Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. For LSG, the win was huge beyond just two points. This was the team’s first win after six consecutive defeats and also ended an eight-match losing streak at home in Lucknow. Mitchell Marsh starred in the win with 111 off 56 balls, as last-placed LSG defeated RCB by nine runs via DLS in the rain-reduced contest.

Punjab Kings remain 13 points behind from 10 matches, including six wins, three defeats and one match without a result. Despite the loss, Royal Challengers Bengaluru still have the best net run rate in the tournament at +1.249, which could become crucial later in the playoff race. Chennai Super Kings remain firmly in contention with 10 points, while Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians face increasing pressure to keep their campaigns going. At the bottom, Lucknow Super Giants finally ended their miserable run, but they still have a lot of work to do after rising to six points from 10 matches.
