A new group of characters joins We were liars Universe for the Prime Video series for Season 2.
Josh Dallas, Costa D’Angelo, Parker Labine, Peyton List, Alicia Rohrbach and Madison Wolfe have been cast as regular cast for the second season of the show.
The series, which was renewed for a second season last year, will follow E. Lockhart’s previous 2022 novel, Family of liars In addition to featuring new stories about the existing cast of characters, the author said.
“The prequel is a flashback to when the mother characters were teenagers. So, you’ll see a whole story about that, but you’ll still see a beat, you’ll still see Junie, you’ll still see all these sisters as adults. The showrunners are setting up new stories for them,” E. Lockhart said. Hollywood Reporter.
Dallas will play the young Harris, taking over from David Morse who played Harris Sinclair in the first season. Tell me lies D’Angelo will star as Pfeff, a “New England college kid with a mysterious edge.” Parker will portray the young Carrie, a role first played by Mamie Gummer in the first season; List will play a young tipper, originally portrayed by Wendy Crowson; Rohrbach will take on the role of young Penny, first played by Caitlin Fitzgerald; Wolfe will play the young Bess, originally played by Candice King.

Season 2 will see the return of Emily Alyn Lind as Cadence.
“Attempting to confront her truth, Cadence returns to Beachwood. As she delves deeper into family secrets, she learns about the Sinclair sisters’ summer of 1999 — a summer filled with first love, rivalry, and even murder. In flashbacks, we see Carrie, Penny, and Bess navigate the summer of their adolescence, as they come to terms with their past in the present day,” the Season 2 tagline reads.
E. Lockhart We were liars The book was published in 2014 and became a bestseller. The novel centered on the wealthy Sinclair family who spend each summer at Beachwood, a fictional, wealthy island off Martha’s Vineyard. The first season of the Prime Video series adapted from Julie Plec and Karina Adly McKenzie starred Lind, Esther MacGregor, Shubham Maheshwari, and Joseph Zada.
Season 2 was written and executive produced by co-showrunners Plec and MacKenzie. Executive producers also include My So-Called Company’s Emily Cummins, Brett Matthews, Marguerite MacIntyre, E.J. Lockhart.
Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, and Amazon MGM Studios are behind the project. The novel is published by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books.
