Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed his X account display image with the completion of the one-year ‘Operation Sindoor’. The image now has a black background with the words ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the national flag above it.

Operation Sindoor, the military operation launched by India to dismantle terrorist operations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, was completed after one year on Thursday, May 7. And it’s not just Prime Minister Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and the chiefs of the three forces – Army, Navy and Air Force – who also changed their display avatars on the X.
Prime Minister Modi also shared a message on the anniversary of Operation Sindoor and praised the armed forces for the precise strikes. “They have given a befitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians in Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our troops for their bravery. Operation Sindoor has reflected India’s resolute response against terrorism and its steadfast commitment to safeguarding national security,” he wrote on X.
The Prime Minister also reiterated India’s resolve to combat terrorism and wrote: “We remain as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem.”
The Air Force also shared a clip revisiting how India crippled Pakistan’s terror infrastructure and military institutions as the conflict escalated last year. “Operation Sindoor, done justice. Meticulous, memorable operation – Operation Sindoor continues. India forgets nothing – India forgives nothing,” the Indian Air Force said in a tweet.
Operation Sindoor was launched days after 26 civilians were killed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir in a deadly terror attack. Shortly after midnight, the military announced the launch of Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025.
More than 100 terrorists were killed in the operation. The nine terrorist camps targeted by India across the border are Sawai Nala Camp in Muzaffarabad, Syedna Bilal Camp, Gulpur Camp, Abbas Camp, Barnala Camp, Sargal Camp, Mahmud Joya Camp, Taiba Centre, and Subhan Center in Bahawalpur.
The operation quickly escalated into a military conflict with Pakistan after Indian army bases were targeted. India managed to deal a strong blow to the Pakistani army, causing damage to its main bases.
