Sharing the video on X, the IAF official wrote: “Justice done. Minute in action, memorable – Operation Sindoor continues. India forgets nothing – India forgives nothing.”

The video also carried a sharp message about the size and speed of the operation, as it was stated that it “took only 88 hours.”

Operation Sindoor was launched days after the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 civilians. Shortly after midnight on May 7, 2025, the army officially announced the start of the operation.

Modi and Jaishankar update profile pictures

To mark the anniversary, Modi and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar updated their official X profile pictures with visuals referencing Operation Sindoor.

The updated images prominently highlight the process and its importance.

Prime Minister Modi says the nation salutes the armed forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the armed forces showed “unparalleled courage, precision and resolve” during the operation. He shared the message on X, recalling a year of military action on Pakistan.

“A year ago, our armed forces displayed unparalleled courage, precision and resolve during Operation Sindoor. They gave a befitting response to those who dared to attack innocent Indians in Pahalgam. The entire nation salutes our forces for their bravery,” Modi said in a statement.

The Prime Minister said the operation reflected India’s “firm response against terrorism” and demonstrated the “professionalism, preparedness and coordinated strength” of the armed forces.

He further said that the operation demonstrated the growing interconnectedness between the services and underscored how India’s push for self-reliance in defense has strengthened national security.

He added: “Today, one year later, we remain as steadfast as ever in our resolve to defeat terrorism and destroy its enabling ecosystem.”

“Terrorism and talks cannot go together.”

The anniversary also brought renewed focus on India’s hardline stance towards Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack.

Following the attack last year, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, marking a major shift in bilateral water-sharing arrangements between the two countries.

At that time, Modi addressed the nation and declared that “terrorism and talks cannot go together, terrorism and trade cannot go together, blood and water cannot flow together.”

One year later, the treaty is still pending.

Rajnath Singh lauds ‘seamless interconnectedness’

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also praised the armed forces and described the operation as a “strong symbol of national determination and preparedness.”

In a post on X, Singh said: “On the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, we salute the courage and sacrifices of our armed forces, whose courage and dedication continue to protect the nation.”

He added that the operation reflects “unparalleled precision, seamless interconnection and profound inter-service synergy”, which he said “sets the standard for modern military operations”.

More than 100 terrorists were killed

According to officials, more than 100 terrorists were killed during the operation.

India targeted nine cross-border terror camps, including Sawai Nala Camp in Muzaffarabad and Syedna Bilal Camp, along with Gulpur Camp, Abbas Camp, Barnala Camp, Sargal Camp, Mehmood Joya Camp, Taiba Centre, and Subhan Center in Bahawalpur.
