Palash Muchhal visits temple amid Sangli cheating case and caste abuse allegations: 'Jahan sir goka, insult sukun mela'

Singer-composer Palash Muchhal, who has been courting controversy for the past two days on charges of cheating and caste-based abuse, shared pictures on social media of his visit to Khatu Shyam ji and Salasar Balaji temple.Mushal posted pictures of himself praying to the deity and commented on the post, saying: “Jahan sir goka, wahan sukun mela.” “Khatu Shyam ji – Salasar Balaji – Jeevan Mata ji,” he added.

However, the singer has turned off comments, as the post comes amid his alleged involvement in an infidelity case. According to a report in the Free Press Journal, a case has been registered against the singer and composer, on charges of cheating and offenses under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The complaint was reportedly filed by Vidnyan Mane, a childhood friend of cricketer Smriti Mandanna, alleging financial cheating and offensive remarks on the basis of caste during their dealings related to a film project.According to the complaint, Mani Muchhal was accused of taking Rs 25 lakh as part of an investment linked to a film project and subsequently failed to return the money. According to NDTV, the complainant said in the statement: “On November 22, 2025, when he was in Sangli, I met him in person along with my friends.

In this meeting we realized that we had been deceived. At the same time, he made extremely derogatory and classist remarks about a particular community, which I have detailed in my FIR, as it is not appropriate to repeat them publicly.

In January 2026, Mani filed an FIR against Muchhal with the Sangli Superintendent of Police. According to the complaint, Muchhal met Mani in Sangli on December 5, 2023.

Since he had shown interest in investing in film production, Muchhal said he could invest in his next project ‘Nazaria’ as a producer, the complainant claimed. After releasing the film on OTT platforms, Mani claimed that Muchhal told him that he could earn a profit of Rs 12 lakh on an investment of Rs 25 lakh, and also offered him a role in the film. The two met twice after that, and Mani allegedly gave him a total of Rs 40 lakh as of March 2025.

However, the project remained incomplete, prompting Manny to demand his money back, but he received no response. He then approached Sangli police. The singer then revealed in a post that he had filed a defamation lawsuit against Mane over what he described as “false” allegations. In his Instagram post, he wrote: “My lawyer Shreyansh Mithar has served a legal notice of defamation amounting to Rs 10 crore to Sangli resident Vidnyan Mani for his false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations made with deliberate intent to damage my reputation and character.”
