Oscar Isaac continues to work with Netflix, both in front of and behind the camera.
Isaac has signed on to star and executive produce a drama series set in Las Vegas for the streamer, and has also signed a first-look deal at Netflix. The series, which Netflix ordered in December, comes from Billions Creators Brian Kopelman and David Levine and Martin Scorsese are also among the executive producers.
Under the first-look deal, Isaac’s company Mad Gene, which he co-chairs with Elvira Lind and Gina Konstantinakos, will develop series and film projects for Netflix.
The deal comes on the heels of Isaac starring in the second season of the Netflix anthology series meatwhich debuted in April. It also topped director Guillermo del Toro’s list Frankenstein The streamer’s adaptation stars director Julian Schnabel In Dante’s handand is scheduled to be released on Netflix later this year.
In the currently untitled Las Vegas series, Isaac will play Robert Redman, aka Bobby Red, the boss of Sin City’s hottest hotel and casino. The drama will follow the long moves he makes to secure and expand his position in Las Vegas.
Koppelman and Levine will serve as directors and writers on the series, and J.C. Chandor – who directed Isaac V Triple boundaries and The most violent year – He will lead the first two episodes. Kopelman and Levine are executive producing with Scorsese (via Sikelia Productions); Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Extended Media; Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter, and Isaac. Kerry Orient is co-executive producer.
