Chamber of Secrets will open on HBO.
The grid is officially greenlit Harry Potter For the second season.
The renewal comes seven months before the debut of the first season of the program. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Filming for the second season is scheduled to begin this fall.
HBO has not announced a title for the second season, but the series’ creative team previously stated that they plan to spend one season on each book, and JK Rowling’s second novel is Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
In addition, writer John Brown (succession) to the position of co-showrunner alongside season one showrunner Francesca Gardiner.
“As we laid out our plans for staggered production schedules to finish Season 1 by Christmas and return to production for Season 2 this fall, it became clear that bringing on a co-showrunner was key to maintaining our momentum,” Gardiner said in a statement. “I loved working with John from the first day we met succession Until these last times together Harry Potter. Not only do I have great admiration for his writing, but he is also a wonderful collaborator and a lovely person. We are lucky to have him.”

Chamber of Secrets It is often considered by fans to be the weakest of the seven Harry Potter novels written by Rowling. But the show’s creators were looking to subtly expand on Rowling’s beloved source material and will no doubt find some new ways to take the story further.
One major question is when Season 2 will start, especially considering the show is facing the ticking clock of its young cast growing up. Since the first season began filming in July 2025, HBO has spent 17 months on the show Philosopher’s stone. If HBO starts filming Season 2 this fall, it will seem like the network has a little less time room Ready by next Christmas.
There is no information yet on any additional cast or directors for Season 2. Mark Mylod serves as executive producer and directed several episodes of the first series, produced by HBO in association with Brontë Film and TV and Warner Bros. Television. The series is also executive produced by Rowling, Neil Blair and Ruth Kinley-Letts of Brontë Film and TV and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
