Louise Linton is back behind the camera again – this time she’ll be playing John McTiernan, but with a little bit of Chris Columbus. The 44-year-old actress-turned-Treasury Secretary-wife-turned-filmmaker is in the middle of shooting her third film as a director, an action comedy titled “Holidays.” The fight was before Christmas.

“Basically, it is Alone at home meet Die hardAlexandra Dreyfus plays a frivolous white girl married to a very rich British man, while her sister Abigail, played by Brandi Burkhart, is very serious and very elegant. The two absolutely hate each other, so there’s a lot of physical comedy. But then, while the pair are out of town on Christmas Eve, a break-in occurs, and the two join forces and discover brilliant ways to defend their beautiful, luxurious estate.

Linton won’t reveal the budget (“My producing partner sits down with me and says I’m not allowed”), but the project has a short shooting period — 10 days in Los Angeles and Camarillo — suggesting minimal financing. However, Ms. Steven Mnuchin spares no expense when it comes to her crew below the line. It has hired veteran stunt coordinator Mike Gunter, whose credits include Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, transformers and Bad boys for lifeTo coordinate combat sequences. In contrast to her previous directorial efforts – 2021 I am you crazy And 2023 Chick flakeBoth of which the box office failed to notice one way or another – she doesn’t appear as herself in the picture, except for a small cameo as a maid.

“I really enjoy being able to devote myself 100% to directing,” she says. “I don’t like doing both. Directing is difficult, especially when you’re wearing a tight costume and high heels.”
