According to TV9 Marathi, the authorities have filed a case against Palash Muchhal, citing the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Vigyan, who lives in Sangli and was a childhood friend of Smriti Mandanna, filed the complaint. The police filed a case under Section 3(1) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with Sections 351(2) and 352. The investigation is ongoing.

According to reports, the problem is due to a financial dispute.
Police said that Palash Muchhal had borrowed Rs 25 lakh from Vigyan Mani for a film production project. Mani later demanded the money back. The confrontation reportedly happened when Mane raised the matter again, sparking a quarrel between them.
