This is not propaganda The Mandalorian and Grogu was looking for.
The White House posted a photo (below) on May 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, of Trump as the Mandalorian alongside Baby Yoda/Grogu and the American flag.
The photo was accompanied by the following announcement: “In a galaxy that demands strength – America stands ready. This is the way. May the Fourth be with you.”
This publication comes at a time when Disney is intensifying its promotional campaign for the first film in the Star Wars series in seven years. the mandalorian and grogu, Which opens in theaters on May 22.
The comments that received the highest votes on this post were images of the artificial intelligence that transformed Trump into the obese gangster Jabba the Hutt. Another notable comment has Baby Yoda replaced in the position by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Lucasfilm had no comment on the photo.
Earlier Monday, Nielsen released a study on the streaming ratings for Star Wars on Disney+ that had some surprising findings — including the sequel trilogy not being as popular as the original and prequel trilogies, among other findings.
Early tracking appears The Mandalorian and Grogu It’s headed toward an opening weekend of $80 million, which is either the lowest ever for a Disney Star Wars movie, or an impressive number for a movie based on a TV show — depending on your point of view (as Obi-Wan might say).
The Mandalorian and Grogu It builds on the success of Disney+ The Mandalorian The TV show returns Pedro Pascal as helmeted bounty hunter Din Djarin. The film also stars Jeremy Allen White and Sigourney Weaver.
