A middle-aged man was dragged on the bonnet of a car for about two kilometers in Telangana’s Mirpet after a road dispute, police said on Sunday.

The man was traveling on a two-wheeler with his son, who was riding the bike, when a car traveling in the same direction got into an altercation with them, news agency PTI reported, citing police officials.
The incident, which occurred on the night of May 1, was revealed in a video clip showing the man clinging to the moving vehicle.
The dispute reportedly started when the cyclist signaled a U-turn about 500 meters earlier, prompting the motorist to question the move. What started as a verbal exchange quickly escalated. Police said the car driver grabbed the cyclist by the hair and drove the car forward for some distance.
Father jumps to stop the car
When the father saw the situation unfolding, he tried to intervene. He climbed on the hood of the car in an attempt to force the driver to stop. However, police said the driver continued driving with the man on the hood for about two kilometres.
In the end, the car was stopped, and its driver fled his location.
The man told the media that the accident started when the car hit their two-wheeler from behind while they were traveling from Mirpet to LB Nagar.
He also claimed that the driver grabbed his son’s hair and continued driving, causing his son to fall and sustain injuries. As the situation worsened, he grabbed the hood to stop the car, the agency report added.
“The car driver did not stop the car and continued driving until Balapur, where he stopped. When I got off the hood, the driver fled,” the man said.
After the incident, the man filed a complaint with Mirbat Police Station. The police said that a case has been registered against the car driver, and further investigations are currently underway.
