“Mr. Mahajan was actually the only person at this gathering who at least tried to listen to what I was saying,” the woman, Tina Chaudhary, said in a video message.

The incident took place last Tuesday when Mahajan was leading a protest against the women’s reservation movement in Parliament in Mumbai’s Worli area.

Videos of the woman’s angry reaction to the traffic jam caused by the demonstration have emerged on social media, showing her asking the BJP MLA to “get out” of there.

“Get out of here. You’re causing a traffic jam,” she said, wondering why the march was not held in an open space nearby instead of disrupting vehicular movement.

In her last video message, Choudhary said she was in the car for 25 minutes before she decided to get out and find out what was causing the roaring as she was supposed to pick up her daughter at 4:45 p.m.

“For the next hour and a half, I went to every police officer there to ask that if I removed the two buses, the stuck people, that we could make a U-turn and join the main road. I received no reaction, no response,” she said in the video.

She added that she did not throw that bottle towards any demonstrator or gathering, but rather on the ground to attract the attention of the police. “Mr. Mahajan was actually the only person at that gathering who at least tried to listen to what I was saying. On his instructions, the two buses were moved, and we all took a U-turn and were able to join the main road.”

Confrontation with BJP minister

The BJP staged a protest against the opposition parties over their stand on the Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, which aims to provide reservation for women in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. The bill was not approved by the Lok Sabha due to lack of requisite support.

The rally led by Mahajan caused severe traffic congestion, eliciting a strong reaction from Chaudhary.

A complaint was lodged against Tina Chowdhury for allegedly using “abusive language” towards police, but police said on April 24 that no FIR has been lodged against her.

Mahajan is seen in the video trying to calm the woman down as she is seen using strong language. The minister admitted that people were being harassed, and the matter was resolved peacefully. He said the woman was very angry, and it was also true that she “talked a lot.”
