Candace Owens has made a new claim that is now getting a lot of attention online. She says Erica Kirk may use the recent shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner as a reason to step away from her ongoing tour with Turning Point USA.
This comes at a time when the 2026 spring tour is already underway and several university events have already been held. The incident that occurred during the dinner shocked many people, especially since top political leaders were in attendance, including Donald Trump, Melania Trump, and J.D. Vance. Soon after, a video of Erika surfaced where she looked emotional and said she just wanted to go home. While there is no official update on any cancellation, Candace Owens shared her thoughts in a video and explained that this is her personal expectation.
Meanwhile, reports from recent events also raise questions about attendance and student response to the tour.
Candace Owens claims Erica Kirk may cancel TPUSA tour after WHCD shooting as JD Vance event draws low crowds
In a video, Candace Owens openly shared what she thinks could happen next. She said she thought Erika Kirk might use the shooting as a reason to stop touring.“I’d like very quickly to get my predictions out there about Erica addressing the world about the shooting… I’m going to guess that now they’re going to use this as an excuse to say she’s not going to tour anymore,” Owens said.
And it didn’t stop there. Candace Owens also spoke about the reaction of students at different universities. According to her, there were protests, and some students were not happy about hosting Erica Kirk even before the incident. She suggested this could impact ticket sales as well.“Again, I totally think they’re going to take advantage of this because, well, she’s been traumatized again by the shooting, which is why she’s going to take a step back because the world has become so violent.
“That’s my expectation,” Owens added. For now, these are just her claims. There is no official confirmation that the tour has been cancelled.Looking at the tour itself, the spring 2026 tour kicked off earlier this month. Events have already been held at George Washington University, the University of Georgia, The Ohio State University, Baylor University, and the University of Idaho. The fall phase is scheduled to begin on September 22, 2026, beginning at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Other stops include Utah State, Virginia Tech and the University of North Dakota.Meanwhile, another moment from the tour also caught attention. J.D. Vance attended an event at the University of Georgia, but reports say the turnout was not strong. Journalist Jake Traylor shared that only about a quarter of the venue was filled. He even posted a video on X showing many empty seats inside the arena.Meanwhile, Erica Kirk spoke briefly after the shooting. In a video that appeared online, she appeared emotional and said she wanted to go home. Later, while speaking on Charlie Kirk’s podcast, she said:“Saturday was another painful example of the evil in our country and the continuing escalation of political violence.
“I make time to spend with my family.”The shooting itself led to serious legal action. Authorities took 31-year-old Cole Allen into custody. He was charged with attempting to assassinate the president.Even with all of this happening, there is still no official word that Erica Kirk will be canceling or postponing her tour. For now, events remain scheduled, and Candace Owens’ comments remain speculation rather than confirmed news.
