The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday approved the construction of a new building at Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in New Delhi at an estimated cost. $124.50 Crores.

State Finance Minister Baiyavula Keshav said that the new building of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan will be constructed on 11,536 acres of land within the existing premises on Ashoka Road in New Delhi.

“The design and construction of the project has been entrusted to NBCC (India) Ltd. The building will feature modern amenities while reflecting the culture and heritage of Andhra Pradesh,” he said.

The Cabinet approved revised administrative penalties worth $Rs 443.26 crore for strengthening and constructing flood protection works along the right bank of Krishna river in Amaravati. The review comes after a change in the scope of the project from retaining walls to embankment works. The Cabinet also allowed fresh tenders through the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA).

The Cabinet approved the combined administrative approval $Rs 2,540 crore for advanced construction works, including glass cladding, atrium, roof canopies, PV panels and BMU system for integrated AP Secretariat and Heads of Department (HoD) towers in Amaravati.

Also approved $1,208.41 crore for the basic structure and core construction of the twin office towers (T1 and T2) at Quantum Valley project in Amaravati. He added that bids will be invited under a lump sum contracting system.

Cabinet approved $Rs 798 crore for civil works related to the Legislative Assembly building in Amaravati, including the tower, parking ring, roof structures and approach bridges over Palavagu.

“The Cabinet also agreed to punish $Rs 580 crore for infrastructure development at Undavalli village under District 11 of Amaravati. Works include roads, drainage, water supply and sewerage systems, ICT facility ducts, water pipeline reuse, sewage treatment plants and street farms. The project will be funded through APCRDA and will be implemented with a two-year liability period for defects, he said.

The Cabinet approved amendments to the Amaravati Metropolitan Region Land Pooling (Formulation and Implementation) Rules, 2025, which aim to enhance annuity payments, simplify loan waiver expiry dates, and simplify procedural mechanisms for effective implementation.

The Council of Ministers approved the allocation of government lands with a 33-year lease for a nominal rental amount of $1000 acres per annum to build district offices of Telugu Desam Party at Vizianagaram, Prakasam, Kurnool, Rajamahendravaram, Eluru and Parvathipuram.

The Finance Minister said the Cabinet also approved allotment of around 600 acres of land in Puttaparthi, Sri Sathya Sai district, for setting up a defense manufacturing unit under the Defense Research and Development Organisation.
