Axis My India, one of the country’s leading pollsters, is yet to announce their exit poll results for West Bengal and is expected to share them sometime on Thursday, April 30. The exact time is not yet known.

In an interview with NDTV, Pradeep Gupta, founder of Axis My India, said his organization may not release exit poll data in West Bengal on Thursday if it does not get a sufficiently representative sample.

West Bengal voted in two phases on April 23 and 29 for 294 seats after intense campaigning by both the BJP and TMC. The results will be published on May 4, as Trinamul seeks a fourth consecutive term in the state while the BJP aims to make history by winning Bengal for the first time. To form a government in the state, any party or alliance will need to reach the majority mark of 148 seats.

What other polls predict for West Bengal

According to Matrez, TMC+ may fall short of achieving the majority mark by a few seats by winning in 125-140 constituencies. It gave an advantage to the BJP, predicting that it may win 146-161 seats, indicating that there may be a close fight between the two main factions.

A similar forecast was made by pollster P-Marq as well, which said the BJP is expected to secure the lead in 150-175 seats and the incumbent Trinamool may be able to win 118-138 seats. It is expected that other parties will win between two and six seats.

Exit polls Diary has predicted a clear win for the BJP, saying that the party may win 142-171 seats while the TMC may fall well short of the majority mark with only 99-127 seats to its name.

However, the People’s Pulse Survey gave a different prediction, saying the current TMC government may retain power in the state but could lose some seats to 177-187 from the current 215 seats in the assembly. The BJP is expected to get 95-110 seats, she said.
