TDP leader and IT Minister Nara Lokesh assumed responsibilities as the party’s working president, with the leadership describing the post as a huge responsibility aimed at strengthening the organization at all levels.

“We formed new executive committees in which we mixed senior leaders with new faces, and I took oath before the Politburo, national committees and state governments,” Naidu said at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly formed executive committees.

The leadership elevated Mandal leaders and group-level leaders to the Politburo, reflecting its focus on grassroots-level workers and the principle of “cadre is leader”, giving priority to those who worked hard.

He said the committees were formed after multiple checks and strategies, while respecting elders, accommodating newcomers, and appreciating those who contributed to the party’s strength.

The newly formed committees seek to provide a fresh outlook for the party even after 44 years, balancing the experience and guidance of senior leaders with the dynamism of younger members.

Highlights of the swearing-in ceremony were Lokesh, Mangalagiri Group in-charge G Dhanunjay, and Gajapattinagaram Mandal Chairman G Sridevi.

The party also accommodated individuals who were active on social media, in recognition of their contribution to organizational outreach and communication efforts.

According to Naidu, his government is implementing multiple welfare schemes while accelerating infrastructure and irrigation projects to ensure all-round development across the state.

Irrigation projects are being expedited to ensure water security and supply to farmers, while works in Polavaram and Amravati are being accelerated.

“We are implementing several welfare schemes, expediting irrigation projects to ensure water security, and accelerating Polavram and Amravati works,” he said.

He pointed out that with the Centre’s support, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant was brought back to the path of profitability, while the government maintained the self-respect of the Telugu people.

Naidu said the government has restored the reputation and credibility of the state, which he claimed was affected during the previous YSRCP government between 2019 and 2024, and is working in line with the objectives of Swarna Andhra.

Regarding the energy sector, he said that it had suffered setbacks earlier, but was revived through measures taken to protect consumers from additional financial burdens.

The Prime Minister said the government bears the onus to protect people from correct tariffs while reducing electricity costs through corrective measures and has already announced that tariffs will not be increased.

He added that efforts are underway to reduce energy procurement costs, and tariffs were reduced by 30 pesos last year with plans to cut another 30 pesos.

Naidu said infrastructural development is being promoted by completing ports, airports and highways to improve connectivity across Andhra Pradesh.
